South Seeds seeks to enable Glasgow’s southsiders to live a more sustainable life. It is a community-led organisation based on Victoria Road in the heart of Glasgow’s southside. With 25,000 residents within 20 minutes’ walk from its high street location, South Seeds has high engagement in its sustainable lifestyle opportunities, such as the Southside Tool Library, growing food at the Croft or saving energy at home.
People around the world need to transform their lives to avoid climate chaos. Here in Glasgow, homes need to be heated with clean energy, active travel needs to become easier and we all need to eat more seasonal produce.
To achieve this in such a short amount of time, action needs to start now – not just at policy level but on the ground where we need it.
For the last 10 years, South Seeds has been supporting these transformations and the southside has become a much nicer place to live or work. We are starting to see what net-zero would actually look like.
